"The key to keeping your balance is knowing when you've lost it"
How do you balance being a mother and an individual? This is a question I get A LOT since becoming a mom. It took some trial and error for me to figure out what balance even looked like in my day to day life. For the first 6 months, I brought Chloe to work with me. It was a struggle to just get an task done. However, today, I can say balance is being able to come home from work and make dinner, play dress up with my toddler, then go to the gym or make time to engage in an adult conversation with my boyfriend, and this is all before bedtime! Once bedtime FINALLY arrives, I am able to shop online, watch a movie on Netflix or make a blog post.
I explain that balance is tailored to the person, because your balance may look different from mine and that is ok! The point here is to just include it at some point in your day so you don't feel off balance, or overwhelmed, or not yourself because you are getting swallowed by your motherly duties. Make time for yourself, and the things you like to do, or simply have a conversation with another adult at some point in the day. We would love for you all to share with us your thoughts or daily routines to incorporate balance!!!
